Dear Howard University Community,

As we approach the holiday season, I am filled with gratitude and appreciation for every member of our extraordinary Howard community. From my family to each of yours, we want to extend warm wishes for a joyous and restorative Thanksgiving celebration.

Thanksgiving provides a moment to express our appreciation for the rich diversity that characterizes Howard. Our University is a vibrant mosaic of cultures and perspectives, contributing to the dynamic and inclusive atmosphere that defines our campus. It is this diversity that enriches our learning, broadens our horizons, and prepares us to navigate the world’s complexities.

I am particularly grateful for our students who continually inspire us with their pursuit of knowledge and commitment to social justice. You embody the spirit of Howard University.

As you celebrate Thanksgiving this year, may you find moments of relaxation and reflection, surrounded by the warmth of family and friends.

To our distinguished faculty, our dedicated staff and administration, I also want to extend my deepest appreciation for your tireless efforts in shaping the minds of the next generation of leaders. Your commitment to academic excellence, mentorship, and community engagement is the bedrock upon which Howard stands. As we give thanks, let us express our continued gratitude for the transformative impact that you have on the lives of our students.

In observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, Howard University will close at 12:00 p.m. today, Wednesday, November 22, 2023. The University will reopen at normal business hours on Monday, November 27, 2023. 

This Thanksgiving, it is essential that we spotlight the remarkable achievements of our Bison family. From groundbreaking research and academic accomplishments to our positive impact locally and globally, Howard University stands as a beacon of inspiration and empowerment.
